The challenge

Vectrix—the world’s first all-electric two-wheel vehicle—needed public relations support for a city-by-city public launch of their product. They hired Kimball Hughes Public Relations, who worked with ride and drive events and customer deliveries to electrify the launch.

The solution

In its first stages, the PR efforts landed Vectrix on page one of the San Francisco Chronicle and San Diego Union Tribune, and inside the LA Times. Network affiliates and daily newspapers in Philadelphia, Lancaster and Allentown, Pa. featured the bike, and everyone from the Providence Journal to NPR covered the Newport store opening.

With these successes, Kimball Hughes helped Vectrix go national and establish the largest dealer network of an electric road vehicle in the country. The bike was featured on Good Morning America, CBS Early Show, the Today Show, the Tonight Show, as well as in Time Magazine, CNN, Associated Press, Playboy, Maxim and other key outlets.
